We’ve all heard about ‘America’s skilled trades deficits.’ But how do these deficits actually affect us? Mike Rowe’s excellent TED Talk helped us understand that an unabated decline in the number of Skilled American Tradespeople (like locksmiths) will result in more fraud (like locksmith scams) and the continued decay of critical American infrastructure (water, gas, electric, fiber optic, roads, etc.) and the U.S. economy.
The amount of unfilled, high-paying Locksmith jobs is astonishing. As the current generation of Locksmiths prepares for retirement, they must be able to pass their skills and knowledge on to a new generation of competent and ethical apprentices. Our security depends on it!
Our solution is to make Locksmithing and Security careers viable and appealing as educational and occupational paths for virtuous young Americans emerging from High School, just as it was in the past.
LockAware is committed to a “PR Campaign for Work” aimed at encouraging the next generation of America’s Locksmiths to pursue rewarding and lucrative careers in Locksmithing once more.
